Theodore Lewandowski
Theodore “Ted” Lewandowski, age 87, of Bluffton, SC died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Hilton Head Hospital after a long illness with his wife and daughters by his side.
Mr. Lewandowski was born on January 19, 1931 in Conshohocken, PA, the son of the late Frank and Eva Wanda Lewandowski. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving bravely during the Korean Conflict. He worked for over 40 years as a mechanical engineer in the electronics industry and while living in Bluffton worked with the kitchen design department of Home Depot. Ted was a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church. Outside of work he enjoyed writing poetry and “dreaming” of new ideas for creative new products.
Mr. Lewandowski was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Kulack and Loretta Sinnk; and brothers, Joseph, Stanley, and Erwin Lewandowski. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley Patricia Lewandowski; daughters, Andrea Suozzi (Ernie) and Romaine Descaro (Barry); sister, Theresa Dylinski (Richard); grandchildren, Christopher Walsh (Katie), Dr. Alexis Suozzi-Bridley (Ryan), Daniel Guerrini, and Paige Shreve ESQ. (Colby); great-grandchildren, Isabella, Wes, Lila, and Quinn; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass.
Inurnment and military honors will follow the mass at the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church.
