Frank Russo Sr. of North Wales

Frank “Sonny” J. Russo Sr., 91, of North Wales, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Regina Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 2, 1926, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Frank & Frances (Jenny) Russo, and the loving husband of the late Marie M. (Notoris) Russo.

Frank was a World War II veteran and served his country proudly with the United States Army. After his time in the military he worked for many years as a self employed barber and owning his own shop “Frank Russo Barber Shop” in Ambler. In his spare time he loved to go dancing whenever he had the opportunity, and was a longtime member of the Wissahickon Valley Historical Society. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and dear friend to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be missed by many.

Frank is survived by one son, Frank J. (Abe Addonizio) Russo Jr.; one daughter, Patricia (Ronald Sr.) Myers; and one grandson, Erick (Heather) Myers.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, Frank was preceded in death by his two sisters, Josephine Olszewski, and Lillian Marsella.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday March 23, 2018, from 10:00AM-11:50AM at the Caramenico Funeral Home Inc, 403 E. Main St. Norristown PA 19401, to pay their respects to both Frank & Marie Russo. Mass will follow the calling time at 12:00PM at the Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St. Norristown PA. 19401. Burial will take place in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, East Norriton PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wissahickon Valley Historical Society, PO Box 96, Ambler PA.
