James Christopher Walker
JAMES CHRISTOPHER WALKER, fondly known as Chris, was born June 20, 1982 the only child of James Walker and Frances Elaine StephensWalker in Norristown, PA. He entered into rest on April 2, 2018.
He graduated from Norristown Area High School in 2000 and enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where he served for six years. He attended Penn State and graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Finance in 2008. He worked for Merck & Company of West Point, PA for 6 years. Chris had a fond desire to fly helicopters so he enlisted into the United States Army/Pennsylvania National Guard to become a Blackhawk Pilot, becoming the first African-American in Pennsylvania to do so. He completed 5 tours of duty, 3 in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan during his military career. Chris served his country proudly for 17 years until his death.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Elaine Stephens; his father, James Walker; two sisters Darlita Stephens and Deborah Simpkins; two special “brothers”, Chris Nelson (Nicole), and Larry West (Jenna); one god-son, Cody Nelson; a “nephew” Zachariah West; and two “nieces” Kayla West and Brynn West; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased in death by his maternal grandmother; Bernice T. Stephens; his maternal grandfather, Clark Stephens II; his paternal grandmother, Grace Walker; his uncle, Clark Stephens III and his cousin Jason A. Ricard.
