LINDA CREED OPERA AND MORE Saturday, April 14: The Linda Creed Opera and More event will be at the Roberts Choral Room at The William Penn Charter School (plenty of parking and an elevator too) from 2-to-4 p.m. Tickets are $40 for adults and $35 for seniors. Pennsylvan­ia One Book, Every Young Child is an establishe­d program that highlights the importance of early literacy developmen­t in preschoole­rs and the significan­ce of reading early and often to children. SPRING SEASONAL/ SENSORY LESSON Thursday, April 12: – Children will learn about their five senses during this program at Norristown Farm Park. They and their adult chaperones will explore the natural world with particular emphasis on using each sense to learn about the surroundin­g woods and fields. There will be games and activities that are known to improve sensory skills. Learn how animals use their senses to find food and survive in the wild. Explore the spring season with the park naturalist on a sensory walk. This program is appropriat­e for children ages three and older with an adult. DAVID FRIDAY MEMORIAL NIGHT Saturday, April 14: Friends and family invite everyone to celebrate the life of David Friday beginning at 7 p.m. at Screwballs, 216 W. Beidler Road, King of Prussia. All proceeds benefit the David Friday Memorial Scholarshi­p Funds, and checks should be made out to Pope John Paul II High school. Organizers ask that attendees wear green and gold in memory of David Friday. Donations will be accepted at the door. TASTE OF THE SUBURBS 2018 Sunday, April 15: The King of Prussia Rotary Club is pleased to announce that tickets for Taste of the Suburbs 2018 are on sale online at kingofprus­siarotary.org. This year’s event will showcase food and drink specialtie­s from over 30 restaurant­s, wineries and micro- breweries. Many of King of Prussia’s newest restaurant­s will be participat­ing for the first time. Tickets cost $40 on line or $50 at the door. NORRISTOWN RUNNING CLUB Wednesday, April 18: Norristown Running Club is starting its second season of Wednesday Group runs on April 18th at 6:30 pm at the Norristown Farm Park (399 N Whitehall Rd). This is a completely free running club that is open to all community members in and around the Norristown area. We run together, share training ideas and accomplish­ments. Our aim is to support, motivate, encourage and educate one another through our common passion of running. Open to all levels and abilities. Feel free to come out to run with us. O’Malia at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the church. O’Malia is director of music at First United Methodist Church of Germantown and a frequent clinician for the American Guild of Organists, Royal School of Church Music and American Choral Directors Associatio­n.
