Michael J. Hamaday Jr. of Trooper, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 76 years old. Born September 19, 1941 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Helen (nee Glacken) Hamaday Sr. and the beloved husband of Phyllis “Jean” (nee Corbin) Hamaday.

Michael was the past president of the Swedesburg Volunteer Fire Company. He both played and coached softball in Swedesburg. Michael enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of NASCAR, golf, and the Phillies, he also enjoyed fishing. He retired from McCarter Iron Works and then later from Glasgow.

In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his four children; Michael John (Nina) Hamaday, Sr., Cheryl (Christophe­r, USMC, retired) Ellison, Karen (Dave) Dolga, and Franklin Lee Montgomery (Traci), ten grandchild­ren; Butch, Jaclyn, Angela, Michael Jr., David Jr., Christie, Daniel, Christophe­r Jr., Frank, and Carolyn as well as 17 grandchild­ren. He was preceded in death by his son Timothy Scot Montgomery and his brother Thomas Hamaday.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Michael’s Life Celebratio­n on Friday April 20, from 9 to 9:50 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His funeral service will begin at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s name can be made to Nemours Alfred I. du Pont Hospital for Children 1600 Rockland Rd. Wilmington, DE 19803.
