Tornetta’s 5 goals lift Methacton over Boyertown
Sydney Tornetta scored five goals — including the game-winner with 4:04 remaining in the game — to lead the Methacton girls lacorsse team to a 12-11 PAC victory over Boyertown Wednesday.
Julie Byrne added three goals for Methacton and Mia Sheldon scored twice.
The Warriors held an 8-7 lead and halftime and the game was tied at 11 before Tornetta netted the decisive goal.
Methacton improves to 8-7 overall, 7-3 in the PAC and 4-3 in PAC Liberty play with the win. SPRING-FORD 21, NORRISTOWN 6 » The Rams jumped out to a 15-1 halftime lead Wednesday and cruised to a PAC win over Norristown.
Katie Metzler had four goals and two assists for Spring-Ford while Jill Quigley added three goals and two assists.
Ashely Schools led the Eagles with four goals.

SPRINGFIELD (M) 2, HATBORO-HORSHAM 1 » Spartans pitcher Nick Pave threw a complete game and held the Hatters to one run in Tuesday’s SOL American contest.
Pave allowed just three hits to go along with seven strikeouts and two walks.
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, Springfield pushed runs across the plate in the third and fourth innings and that was all Pave needed.
Hatters starting pitcher, Jackson Treski, allowed just two runs in four innings on two hits, seven walks, one hit batter and four strikeouts. Eric Thron followed Treski with 1 1/3 scoreless innings and Alex Crim recorded the final two outs.
