RUN 2 REMEMBER Sunday, May 20: Walk or run in this 5th anniversary 5K event in honor of fallen hero and Norristown Area High School graduate Jason “Jake” Moletzsky. Participation options include individual or team registration. Registration fees are waived for current students. The Norristown Garden Club is offering scholarships to residents of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia counties in Pennsylvania enrolled in full-time, horticulture-related programs. Non-residents will be considered if attending a full-time, horticulture-related program at an academic institution in the above Pennsylvania counties. Horticulture-related fields may include: Agriculture Education, Agronomy, Botany, Conservation, Environmental Concerns, Floriculture, Horticulture, Land Management, Landscape Architecture, and Plant Pathology. Books will be available for purchase For information call 610-2720297 ANNUAL SPRING CONCERT Sunday, April 29: We are delighted to invite you to our annual Spring Concert starting at 4 p.m. The Franklinville Schwarzwald Männerchor (THE Philadelphia German Men’s Chorus) will be joined by the Damenchor Wald-Echo (German Ladies Chorus) and guest instrumentalists, in a program that includes classical pieces by Mozart, Beethoven and Handel; German folk songs and drinking songs; songs celebrating the arrival of Spring; and also songs in English including the famous Drinking Song from the “Student Prince”; “I’ll See You Again” by Noel Coward, and a charming arrangement of an old railroad Work Song, “Drill Ye Tarriers, Drill!”. All of the pieces are sung in four-part harmony. The Männerchor and Damenchor will each sing several songs separately, and then join together for a grand finale of the two choruses. Jacqueline Smith leads this concert of folk, popular, and classical music. The concert takes place in the beautiful VE Club, nestled in over 60 acres of wooded Warminster. FULL MOON HIKE Sunday, April 29: Find out why April’s full moon is sometimes called the pink moon or the fish moon. The full moon name is applied to the entire month and is often tied to what is happening in nature. Join a meandering walk to enjoy the sounds and smells of spring.
