North Penn uses 6-run 5th to beat CB South, claim 9th straight win

The North Penn baseball team scored all of its runs in the top of the fifth inning — Joe Picozzi hitting a tworun home run in the frame — as the Knights topped Central Bucks South 6-2 for their ninth straight victory Thursday afternoon.

Tyler Siddal went 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored for North Penn (15-2, 11-0 Suburban One League Continenta­l).

Danny Kirwin gave up two earned runs on five hits, walked three and struck out four in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win.

Joey Loynd homered and Conor McKeown was 2-for-4 for South (10-7, 7-4). 10» Stephen Blue became Souderton’s all-time leader in points as he finished with three goals and three assists in the Indians’ nonleague loss to Harriton in their regular-season finale Thursday.

Blue broke the program record of 130 set by Trent Breneman in 2017. Blue now has 135 career points.

Adam Booz added three goals while Axell Beskar stopped 10 shots for Souderton (12-6, 6-2 SOL American).

Sam Intrieri scored six goals while Maddie Hippenstea­l added two goals for the Trojans (6-12, 4-5 SOL American).

Danny Rutter had 13 digs and three aces, Cross Edwards collected 12 kills and nine digs while Corey Quaste had 32 assists, seven digs and three blocks for the Rams (15-3, 14-2 conference).
