An­nual com­edy night at Maen­ner-Chor Club

Norristown Maen­nerChor Club is hold­ing its 5th an­nual com­edy night on Satur­day, May 19. Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. Cost is $25 a per­son with a cash bar and food. This is a non­smok­ing event.

The stand-up acts sched­uled to per­form are Jeff Pir­rami, Joey Cal­la­han and Missy Grynkiewicz.

Pir­rami has opened for the Char­lie Daniels Band, 3 Dog Night, the Temptations, 4 Tops and Ray Charles, ac­cord­ing to his bi­og­ra­phy.

Ac­cord­ing to his web­site, Cal­la­han has been seen on Com­edy Cen­tral, and ESPN’s “Lighter Side of Sports” and Fox TV. Joey is also a na­tional head­liner and open­ing act for such names as Richard Belzar, Steven Wright, Bobby Collins, Michael Winslow, Joe Pis­copo, Jeff Marder, Bob Nel­son and Weird Al Yankovic.

Grynkiewicz, ac­cord­ing to her bio, “is a co­me­dian, mom and mo­ti­va­tional speaker with a sharp-wit­ted, uni­ver­sal style that cap­ti­vates au­di­ences around the coun­try. She en­joys naps, her new dog, Den­nis, and mak­ing up words that no one else un­der­stands.”

She’s been fea­tured in “Road Spill” on TruTV and in the fea­ture film “Days of Power” with Eric Roberts re­leased in 2018.

Ply­mouth Town­ship Com­mu­nity Day

Ply­mouth Town­ship Day will be held on June 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at East Ply­mouth Val­ley Park, 900 Ger­man­town Pike. Ad­mis­sion to Ply­mouth Day is free but fees are charged for the var­i­ous fes­tiv­i­ties, which in­clude, in­flat­able at­trac­tions, slot car rac­ing, en­ter­tain­ment, a video game truck, food trucks and car­ni­val games. Friends and neigh­bors can also en­joy a craft fair, adult tail­gate games, and en­ter­tain­ment and fun from a DJ. Var­i­ous com­mu­nity groups will be on hand to share in­for­ma­tion on their unique of­fer­ings. Ven­dors pro­vide games and free give­away items.

June Jazz at The Zoo

Montgomery Coun­tyNor­ris­town Pub­lic Li­brary’s an­nual fundraiser is on June 7, from 5-8 pm, at the Elm­wood Park Zoo. Tick­ets are $50 per per­son, and 100 per­cent of the pro­ceeds from ticket sales goes to­ward off-set­ting the li­brary’s per­sis­tent fund­ing chal­lenges. At­ten­dees have the chance to lis­ten and dance to the en­er­giz­ing sounds of lo­cal jazz group The N Town Band. Guests will en­joy de­li­cious hors d’oeu­vres com­ple­mented by a fine se­lec­tion of beer and wine. To add to the even­ing there will also be a fab­u­lous as­sort­ment of Silent Auc­tion items up for bid! The Door Prizes – dozens of amaz­ing ti­tles from lo­cal and na­tional pub­lish­ing com­pa­nies – have be­come a hall­mark of our event, and we are thrilled to say this de­light­ful and lit­er­ary part of the even­ing will con­tinue. Sa­cred Heart Par­ish Car­ni­val starts June 13

June 13-June 16: This will be the first car­ni­val for the Sa­cred Heart Par­ish that will take place on the 120 Jef­fer­son Street in Bridge­port form June 13th to June 16th. This com­mu­nity par­ish event will have rides for ev­ery­one. Food will also be avail­able to pur­chase that will in­clude per­o­gies, hot pork sand­wiches, Kiel­basa, spe­cial baked goods and more. The car­ni­val will be open from 6 to 10 Wed­nes­day, Thurs­day and Fri­day and 4 to 10 on Satur­day.

Schuylkill River So­journ reg­is­tra­tion

PW Class of 1968 re­u­nion

The 50th Re­u­nion of the Ply­mouth Whitemarsh Class of 1968 will be Satur­day Septem­ber 29, 2018 at the Great Amer­i­can Pub, Val­ley Top Ball­room, 123 Fayette Street, Con­shohocken from 6 to 10:30. Chil­dren’s Na­ture Se­ries: ‘Birds, Birds, Birds’

Mon­day, May 21: Take a ‘first look’ at birds. Learn more about our col­or­ful feath­ered friends and their nest­ing habits. Hear a story, make a bird craft, and walk with the park nat­u­ral­ist to lis­ten and look for birds in the park at 1 p.m. Meet at the pavil­ions. Audubon Bird Town Bird Walk

Join a morn­ing bird walk led by mem­bers of the Wyn­cote Audubon So­ci­ety from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on May 22. Both new bird­ers and those with ex­pe­ri­ence are wel­come. Ex­pect to see many of the tran­sient spring mi­grants, es­pe­cially war­blers and vireos, stop­ping over on their north­ward jour­ney. Bring binoc­u­lars if you have them. The walk will start from the main park­ing lot in Lorimer Park on More­don Road. This pro­gram is ap­pro­pri­ate for adults and chil­dren ages 12 and up. Pre-reg­is­tra­tion is sug­gested.
