AOH Irish Festival set for weekend of June 1

The AOH Notre Dame Division will host its annual Irish Festival on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the St. Michael’s Picnic Grove 203 Jacob Street in Mont Clare, Pa. 19453. This festival site is located just across the bridge from Phoenixvil­le and is easy to get to off of Routes 422 and 29.

With plenty of free parking and very reasonably priced beverages and food another great lineup of entertainm­ent will hit the stage under the large pavilion on the festival grounds.

This festival was one of the first festivals in the Philadelph­ia area that started in the early 90s and is still a yearly event promoting Irish culture and supporting the AOH charities at the same time.

Friday night Tom McHugh and the McGillians will start the festival. Gates open up at 5:30. Music from 6:30 to 9:30.

The Paul Moore Band will open up Saturday at 2 p.m. on with The Johnny Dew Band hitting the stage at 6 p.m. Irish Thunder Pipes and Drums will also be firing up the pipes and drums over the weekend. Gates open at 12:30. Sunday gates open at 9 a.m. and mass at 10:30 is being planned outdoors under the pavilion.

After mass at noon Raymond McGroary will kick off the Sunday entertainm­ent The Johnny Dew Band will perform Satuday night at 6 p.m. with McHugh and O’Neil closing the festival. The Irish Thunder Pipes and Drums will also perform on Sunday.

Food, beverages will be served and Vendors will be on site all weekend long. McHugh and O’Neil will start the festival off at 6:30 Friday evening. Ticket prices for the festival are $7.00 for Friday and $10.00 for Saturday and Sunday. Or $20 for the whole weekend.

All proceeds from the festival go toward AOH charities and the festival is rain or shine. Please no coolers.
