Anne L. Guardino of Norristown

Anne L. Guardino, nee Mariani, a lifelong resident of Norristown, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018 at age 91, with her loving family by her side. Born March 17, 1927 in Norristown, Anne was the daughter of Emilia (Cippolini) and Giulio Mariani. She was the beloved wife of Stephen W. Guardino, Sr., who passed away in 2013.

Anne worked for Holy Saviour Rectory for many years before her marriage to her husband. On August 11, 1951 she married the love of her life, Stephen W. Guardino, Sr. She and Stephen owned and operated DeKalb Hardware on Rt. 202 and Township Line Rd. in East Norriton for 25 years, retiring in 1988.

Anne was the loving mother of Anne M. (Jerry) Yaccarino, Doreen (Philip) Wasserman, Stephen W. Guardino, Jr., and Eleanor Barszowski. She was the cherished grandmother of Stephen W. Guardino III, Clearwater FL, Stephanie Neilson (Donald J.), Vanessa Yaccarino (Michael Ebert) and Gregory Yaccarino (Laura), David (Candace), Aaron and Emily Wasserman, Samantha and Stephen Barszowski, and great grandmother of Stephen W. Guardino IV, Mackenzie and Logan Wasserman, and Evie Neilson and Vincent Ebert. Anne was the sister of Emma Pukas and Dominic Mariani and was preceded in death by her brothers, Philip Mariani and Nazzareno Mariani and her daughter-in-law Loretta Guardino. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Anne loved spending time with family. She enjoyed vacations to Lake George, NY and years later spending time with her husband at their home in Lake Placid, Florida. Anne enjoyed sewing and cooking and dinner celebrations with her family members. She especially loved caring for her grandchildren and family pets.

Relatives and friends are invited to Anne’s Life Celebration at Boyd-Horrox of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 6-8 PM and again Thursday, May 24th at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E. Main St., Norristown, PA 19401 from 9-9:50AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment will be at St. Patrick’s Mausoleum.
