Anthony R. Salamone passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was 81. Mr. Salamone of Norristown was a butcher for over 55 years and worked at the former Farmers Market and Genuardi’s Family Supermarke­ts. He was a member of Holy Saviour Church, and a life member of the Mount Carmel Sport Club. Anthony enjoyed working on cars, handyman chores, and spending time with his grandchild­ren. He was an avid country and western music fan and enjoyed Italian holiday traditions with his family.

Anthony was born in Norristown on May 24, 1937 and was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Laudata) Salamone. He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Rita (Piccirilli) Salamone. Also surviving are his daughter Denise (Frank) LaRosa, son Gerald (Marialice) Salamone, two grandchild­ren Nicholas and Noelle LaRosa, and one sister Josephine (Joseph) DiLullo. He was predecease­d by three brothers Joseph, John and Daniel and a sister, Marie Gebhardt.

Relatives and friends may call Monday, June 11, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road, East Norriton followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 AM in Holy Saviour Church 407 E. Main Street, Norristown. Burial at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Norristown.
