Claude L. Mount of Worcester;
Claude L. Mount, 91, of Worcester, originally from Manasquan, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Wells) Mount who predeceased Claude in 1996 after 44 years of marriage.
Claude was born April 25, 1927. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII and attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the US Air Force reserves. He attended Stevens Institute of Technology, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1952.
Mr. Mount worked as a registered professional engineer for Philadelphia Electric for over 37 years. He served in many positions in both electric production and maintenance, and finally as Assistant to the Vice President of Fossil/Hydro Electric Production.
He was an avid railroad fan having visited many steam excursion rides throughout the continental U.S., Canada, and Switzerland. Claude also enjoyed visiting Sanibel Island, Florida, each winter where he made many lifelong friendships.
He is survived by his children David Mount of St. Louis, MO, Andrew Mount and his wife, Christine, of Conshohocken, Jonathan and his wife, Betsy, of Bryn Mawr; his sister Jane and her husband, Cliff Richards of Manasquan, NJ. He was grandfather and great grandfather to seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and uncle to several nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his younger brother Clinton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 2 PM on Friday June 15, 2018 at Bethel Hill United Methodist Church, 2000 Bethel Rd. Lansdale, PA 19446, where friends can greet the family from 1-2 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Bethel Hill United Methodist Church at the address above, or to the American Cancer Society.
