Joyce A. Sholofsky;

Joyce A. (LaPolla) Sholofsky, 87, wife of the late Mark W. Sholofsky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10 at Reading Hospital.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Varga) LaPolla.

Joyce graduated from Fordham University in 1952 with her Bachelor Degree in Education. In 1956 she married her late husband and they enjoyed a 59 year marriage.

Joyce had many interests throughout her life. She enjoyed the theater, gardening and traveling. Joyce and her husband visited over 50 countries during their life together.

After 34 years of teaching, the last 25 spent with the Upper Merion School District, she retired in 1987. Her retirement years were spent with family, friends, travel and most importantly her 3 granddaughters. Joyce was a member of NEA and PSER and a former member of Sacred Heart RC Church in Royersford.

Surviving is her daughter Andrea McMaster of Royersford; son David Sholofsky, husband of Debbie, of Pottstown; grandchildren Lauren Maharrey, wife of West, Katherine McMaster and Jessica Ames, wife of Brett; and a great granddaughter on the way. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brother Sheldon LaPolla.

A funeral service will be Friday, June 15, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford with visitation from 10:00AM to 10:45AM.
