Thomas Connolly, 74, of Trooper, passed away Saturday, June 16, at home after a short illness.

Preceded in death by parents Gerald J. Connolly and Winifred M. (Finnegan) and brother Gerald T. and son-in-law Jay Hannan.

Survived by his wife of 53 years Agatha Jane (Monks), mother-in-law Janet Heywood, sister Jean (Sis) Connolly, sister-in-law Janet Connolly, 5 children: Christine A. Hannan, Janette M. Schumacher (Chris), James W. (Sabrina), Timothy E. (Yan), and Megan J. Beltran (Josè) , and 10 grandchild­ren: Kayla, Tyler, and Reilly Hannan; Brian and Jenna Schumacher; Angelica and Joseph Connolly; Allison Connolly; Liam and Gabriel Beltran; many California sisters/brothers in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born in Larksville, PA and raised in Plymouth (Luzerne County), Thomas graduated St. Vincent’s Catholic High School in 1963. He wanted to see the world and became a proud sailor in the United States Navy choosing to serve in the Pacific during Vietnam. He met his wife Aggie on shore leave in California, married and relocated to his home state of Pennsylvan­ia.

He worked 30 years for PECO holding positions as a fleet mechanic and later working his way up to a NRC licensed Nuclear Reactor Operator at Limerick Generating Station.

He was a devoted member of Visitation B.V.M since 1967 and Third Order Franciscan. After retiring, he went on to work with disabled adults at the Indian Creek Foundation and another 10 years of various positions at Montgomery County Community College.

In retirement, he enjoyed reading Western novels, listening to Irish music, collecting vintage trains and cowboy figures, but most of all caring for and spending time with his grandkids.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. followed by mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21 at Visitation B.V.M lower church, Trooper, PA. Interment will be at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.
