Julius E. Vasas, 85

Julius E. “Duke” Vasas, 85, husband of Juanita B. (Blackner) Vasas of Pottstown, PA passed away on Friday June 29, 2018 at Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA .

Born in Beaverdale, PA he was the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Washko) Vasas.

Julius was a supervisor for 38 years first working for Western Electric AT&T and then for Bell Telephone retiring in 2000.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Julius was a little league baseball coach for 30 years. He was an avid gardener who had a green thumb. He enjoyed golfing. He was a devoted husband, parent, grandparent and great-grandparent. He enjoyed following and watching his grandchildren in their sporting events and attending their dance recitals and plays. He also loved his pets and was a loyal friend to many neighbors.

Surviving with his wife are two sons Michael E. Vasas husband of Diane of Collegeville, PA and Steven G. Vasas husband of Renee of Lower Pottsgrove Township. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Heather Laudeman (Kyran), Emily Vasas, Patrick Vasas and Charlie Vasas. Also two grandchildren Lily and Finn Laudeman. Julius is also survived by a sister Malvena Maus of Trenton, NJ

A viewing will be held Thursday evening July 5, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home, 726 East High St., Pottstown, PA . A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Aloysius R.C.C. 223 Beech Street, Pottstown, PA with a viewing in the church Gathering Center prior to Mass from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA .
