LOMA’s pitchers shut down Central Bucks

NEWTOWN » With a heat index of over 100 degrees, the LOMA baseball squad cruised to a 9-0 victory over the hometown Central Bucks Brewers at Middletown Grange on Saturday.

Highlighti­ng the victory was LOMA’s starting pitcher Seth Greene, who only gave up one hit while getting 12 strikeouts in four innings.

“I just tried to stay in the zone,” said Greene. “It’s been a while since I’ve been on the mound, tried to stay within my limits and get the win for these guys.”

LOMA got on the scoreboard early in the top of the first inning when Corey Kramer came around to score on an error by Brewers first baseman Tommy Mitchell.

Central Bucks did start hot, putting runners on first and second base to start the game, but Greene struck out the next three batters to get out of the first inning.

After hitting the leadoff batter Kyle Feasby in the second inning, Greene once again got the next three batters out on strikes.

LOMA was able to strike for two more runs in the third inning. Bob Prozdowski scored on another error by Mitchell to give LOMA a 2-0 lead.

Trey Guaglionon­a reached first base on that same error and he later scored to give LOMA a 3-0 lead after three innings.
