Michael J. Higgins Jr. of East Norriton, passed away peacefully on Monday July 2, 2018. He was 91 years old.

Born July 20, 1926 in Philadelph­ia, he was the son of the late Michael J. Sr. and Catherine (nee Dougherty), and the beloved husband of Rosemary (nee Dooner) Higgins, with whom he spent 44 years of marriage.

Michael was a very active member of St. Titus Church and served as an Usher and in many other capacities. He held many offices in the St. Titus Council, including Grand Knight for three years, Deputy Grand Knight and Chancellor for three years of the St. Titus Council Knights of Columbus #11040 where he was a 4th degree member.

Michael was a World War II Veteran and in the US Army from 1944 to 1946. He was stationed in Japan and the Philippine­s. His decoration­s include the Asian Pacific Medal with oak leaf clusters, the Philippine Liberation Medal with oak leaf clusters, the World War II Victory Medal, the Japanese Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Presidenti­al Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster.

Michael was an Airline Customer Service Assistant and retired from Eastern Airlines in 1988.

In addition to his wife Rosemary, Michael is survived by his sister Catherine Heebner, 21 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Eileen Bourque, and three brothers; Jim, Bill, and Tom Higgins.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Michael’s Life Celebratio­n on Friday July 6, from 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Titus Church 3006 Keenwood Rd. East Norriton, PA 19403. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
