Albert J. Lewullis
Albert J. Lewullis passed away peacefully in Blue Bell, PA, on July 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Ashland, PA, on October 12, 1939, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary (Kulikowski) Lewullis.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia; children Gina, Todd and his wife Leni; grandchildren Kelsey, Amanda, Julia and Jack; his brothers Robert and his wife Mary and Ronald and his wife Regina; and many extended family members who will miss him tremendously.
Albert attended the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. He then received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Drexel University in 1969.
He began his career at Bechtel Power Plant in Limerick and later established Whitpain Beverage in Blue Bell, which he owned from 1980 – 1988. He later retired from Vanault Construction Company.
Much of his life was spent serving the community. He functioned as the Whitpain Township Supervisor from 1980 – 1997 and later as an interim Whitpain Township Tax Collector. He served on the Whitpain Recreation Association for many years. He also presided as President of the organization in 1975 – 1976.
Coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams was a highlight for him during this time.
His greatest accomplishment was his family. He especially enjoyed time with his wife, family and friends at the Lewullis’ second home in Ocean City. He spent many hours spinning tales on the deck of his shore home with his grandchildren. He truly treasured his time with his family.
Some of his fondest memories include the St. Helena’s Horse Show and Country Fair where his daughter Gina showed her horse “Misty.”
He organized and ran the beverage tent with his long time buddy Pete Cook. He spent many hours at the Whitpain Greens Swim Club where many happy memories were created with family and friends. Al was on the Board of Director’s at the Swim Club and served as Vice President of the organization.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Albert’s Life Celebration on Friday July 13, from 9 to 10:50 AM at St. Helena’s Church 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at the church. Entombment will be in St. Patrick’s Mausoleum. Family services are by Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 610-277-7000.
