FBI, police search for Citizens Bank robber

NORRISTOWN » The Norristown Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsibl­e for the Aug. 8, 2018, robbery of the Citizens Bank branch located at 101 W. Main St. in Norristown.

According to an FBI Philadelph­ia Division release, at approximat­ely 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, the subject entered the bank, approached the counter, and presented a demand note to a teller. After obtaining an undisclose­d amount of cash, she fled the area of the bank on foot.

The subject is described as a black female in her 30s to 50s, approximat­ely 5-feet-5 to5-feet-7 tall, heavy build. She was wearing medium blue full-length Muslim-style garb, large sunglasses, and gray sneakers, and carrying a dark-colored purse.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with informatio­n about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the Norristown Police Department at 610278-TIPS (8477) or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
