The band will headline Expressive Path’s Sixth Annual Arts and Music Festival concert on Saturday, Sept. 8th from 2 to 6 p.m. Also on the bill are Carlos Danger, The ReD AngeL Band, Rich Flow, Roi Lush, and Mitch HNF supported by sound engineer, Eric Nethery.

In addition to live music, the free family event will feature local artists, vendors, food trucks, raffles, and Expressive Path student performances. There will be half a dozen food trucks to keep the crowd well nourished, along with grills located at various points in the park.

Guests are encouraged to bring coolers, chairs and blankets and be mindful of disposing of trash in the appropriate receptacles.

“Harriet Wetherill Park is just beautiful,” Sharapan says. “There are paths and trails to walk or bike. Lots of wooded and field area, a stream, a playground … and so much more to explore. This [family campout] should be a lot of fun, and with Kim and me there to help anyone who needs help, it’s the perfect way to try something that might end up being a favorite family activity. You never know.”

Prospective HWP campers must provide their own tents (and undertent tarps), chairs, sleeping materials, flashlights, head lamps or lanterns and batteries. Neophytes might want to check out REI’s “Beginner’s Guide to Your First Campout” at rei. com, a detailed how-to that covers everything from basic packing recommendations to sleeping tips.

“Camping is like staying in a primitive cabin, minus the cabin itself,” REI’s tutorial notes. “So, in addition to your tent, pack as though you’re going to stay someplace where there’s little or no furniture, no electricity, no stove or refrigerator, and the cupboards are bare.”

REI’s experts also suggest camping newbies consider borrowing or renting “the priciest items — the tent and your sleeping bags and pads.”

“That’s a better strategy than paying bottom dollar for something that might not even last for a single camping trip,” they reason.
