East Norriton Community Day is Sept. 8

The 40th annual Community Day will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Standbridge Street Park, 2501 Stanbridge Street, East Norriton. The Community Day will feature food, games, fireworks, vendors and music. Fireworks are scheduled for 8:15.

Family Fun Day and Car Show

Saturday, Sept. 29: A Classic, antique, muscle cars, hot rods, custom trucks, modified and stock bikes will fill Valley Forge Marketplace’s parking lot on Saturday, September 29th during the Family Fun Day and Car Show taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Rain date is Sunday, September 30th). Proceeds from this Family Fun Day and Car Show benefit the West Norriton Township Police Association, who help provide flu shots to the elderly, support an annual food drive, Toys for Tots, and contribute to Township Little League teams. There will be children’s amusements, food, beverages, and water ice. Raffle items include prizes such as; Yeti Hopper Cooler, 43” Toshiba 4K UHD TV, Fire 7 Tablet, Bose Bluetooth Speaker, Grill from Home Depot, as well as gift cards from Bryn Mawr Trust, ChickFil-A, Primo Hoagies, and Marshall’s, to name a few. There will also be a 50/50. Over the last few years the Valley Forge Marketplace Merchants’ Association has contributed their proceeds from this annual event as charitable donations and sponsorships to local organizations. The Valley Forge Marketplace is located at 600 S. Trooper Road, Norristown (intersection of Trooper Road / Route 363 and Egypt Road in West Norriton Township). Riverfront Festival in Norristown

Riverfront Park in Norristown (1 Haws Avenue) is Saturday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m., featuring kayaking, food, a beer garden by Conshohocken Brewery, music, and fun activities for the kids! Non-vendor parking will be available at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit on Lafayette Street.

Annual Collegeville Colossal Yard Sale

Saturday, Sept. 8: Spend the beautiful fall morning at Collegeville’s seventh legendary Colossal Yard Sale! The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Waterworks Park at 220 West First Ave. in Trappe, features over 80 sellers, food, and a large playground area for kids. Individuals who would like to sell at the yard sale can register at www.collegevilledevelopment.org. A 10-foot space costs $25; sellers bring their own tables. The Yard Sale is laid out along tree-shaded, paved paths, and is a great opportunity to pick up some exciting treasures and low cost finds from your neighbors! The Yard Sale is handicapped accessible, and free parking for shoppers is available on the park’s large playing field. In the event of rain, the Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15th. Proceeds from the Yard Sale benefit the non-profit CEDC, which works to promote businesses in the Collegeville area and organizes fun events for area families throughout the year.
