Methacton reclaims PAC boys golf title

Dylan Lasecki shot a match-low 34 as the Methacton golf team returned to the top of the Pioneer Athletic Conference Thursday as the Warriors defeated Spring-Ford 179187 in the PAC boys team championsh­ip final at Gilbertsvi­lle Golf Club.

Jason Rieger carded a 35, Andrew Catania had a 36 with A.J. Thomas and John Haley both shot 37s as Methacton won its fifth PAC title in the past six seasons.

Josh Brauer shot a 35 to paced the Rams, which beat Methacton in last year’s PAC final. Luke Watson added a 36, Drew Clifford had a 38 and both Axel Kalbach and Nate Pierce carded 39s for Spring-Ford. SPRING-FORD 2, METHACTON 1 (OT) >> Spring-Ford’s Caroline Todd scored the overtime winner on Ashley Sessa’s second assist of the PAC Liberty contest Wednesday.

Rachel Alderfer pulled Methacton (9-5-0, 4-3-0 division) level at 25;49 second half. Kate Crist put the Rams up 1-0 at 21:50 in the first half. SOUDERTON 3, CHELTENHAM 0 >> Maya Hanson had 17 assists, eight aces, four kills and five digs while Maria Iervolino collected eight digs, seven kills and a block in Souderton’s SOL American sweep Wednesday. PERK VALLEY 3, METHACTON 2 >> Izzy Clauhs collected 15 kills, 20 digs and a pair of aces as Perkiomen Valley won a back-and-four PAC Liberty match Wednesday by taking the fifth set 15-10.

Emma Eglinton had 51 assists, 17 digs and five kills for Methacton 9-6, 7-4 division).
