John Emory Harkins, Sr. of Eagleville.

John Emory Harkins, Sr., age 53 years, of Eagleville, passed away on Friday October 5, 2018, surrounded by his wife and children, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 23, 1964, son of Joseph I. and Rita A. (Lavan) Harkins, Sr. of East Norriton, Pa., son-in-law of Jerry and Bev Cantrell of Worcester, Pa.

He met the love of his life Mickey (Cantrell-Larkin) at their local swim club at the age of 16, they reconnected years later. the Two married in 2009.

John was “Daddy” to Katrina Harkins and John. Jr. “Jay” Harkins, and best Step Dad ever “Johnny” to Kristina Larkin and Robbie Larkin.

John was the youngest of 6 children, he is survived by brothers Malcolm (& Maura) Harkins of Maryland and Joseph (& Cornota ) Harkins of Drexel Hill, and a sister Mary Beth (& Scott ) Daniels of Maryland. He also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Tommy & Patrick Harkins.

John worked with Carvision of Trooper, Pa. with those he considered his second family.

John enjoyed going “down the shore” every weekend with his family and loved his trips to the Florida beaches with Mickey several times a year.

He also enjoyed spending time adventuring in Philly with Mickey and the kids, watching the Eagles, Flyers, gardening, and playing with his Pitbulls Thunder and Lihgtning.

His Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, Oct 10 from 10:00 AM at St. Teresa Of Avila R.C. Church 1260 South Trooper Road, Norristown, Pa 19403

There will be a visitation for relatives and friends on Wednesday morning, Oct 10 from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Harley’s Haven Dog Rescue, 1419 Ridge Road, Perkasie, Pa 18944.
