Pumpkin Days in Media, Oct. 20 & 21

This annual event is held at the Tyler Arboretum, 515 Painter Road. The event will include a bounce house, inflatable obstacle course, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin racing, hay rides, food and lots more. It’s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

Arboretum members have free admission, adults are $15, seniors are $13 and children are $9. Free parking will be available at the Penn State Branywine and shuttles will bus people to and from the arboretum. Kids Halloween Mini Garden Workshop in Skippack on Oct. 27

Children are invited to celebrate the season with a kids Halloween-themed workshop at Floral & Hardy. The address is 4007 Skippack Pike. Kids will be making their very own mini garden by using miniature plants and decoration­s. Children can even wear their Halloween costumes to the event. There will also be free treats. Frecon Farms picking season in Boyertown until Oct. 28

Frecon Farms opens their orchard to the community during harvest time. People are invited to come out and enjoy the 30-acre orchard and pick their own fruit every Wednesday through Sunday until Oct. 28. There are a variety of apples, pumpkins and sunflowers. While picking, farm guests can also enjoy live music, a concession stand and a picnic area in the tree rows. There’s also a play area for children. The orchard doesn’t have an entry fee. Escape the Asylum 6.66K Run at Pennhurst in Spring City on Oct. 28

The run will take place at Pennhurst Asylum, on of Pennsylvan­ia’s scariest destinatio­n haunted houses. The course will give runners a unique experience as they move through the haunted complex. The asylum is located at the intersecti­on of Bridge St. and Church St. in Spring City. There will be awards for top finishers. Each runner receives a themed Tshirt. Bike Ride, Cemetery Tour & Beer Tasting in Spring Mill on Oct. 29

This fall-theme adult event combines heritage and hops. Participan­ts will first do a group bike ride from Riverbend Cycles in Spring Mill to the historic Montgomery Cemetery in Norristown. While at the cemetery there will be a tour of the grounds and a Sly Fox Brewery beer tasting. Participan­ts will then be shuttled back to the starting point at Riverbend Cycles. Pumpkin Playground at Longwood Gardens in Kennet Square until Oct. 31

Children are invited to come and enjoy the Pumpkin Playground at Longwood Gardens. The Children’s Corner has handson pumpkin fun including large pumpkins on display. Pumpkinlan­d is a great opportunit­y for fall family fun. The seasonal activity is held at the Linvilla Orchards which is a 300-acre family farm located at 137 W. Knowlton Road. During this time of year, the orchard is full of pumpkins in all sizes, shapes and colors. There are also hayrides, mazes and fallthemed games like apple sling shot.
