ALUMNI WATCH >> Juliarose Genuardi (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) won the individual championship to lead West Chester University’s women’s golf team to its first conference title at the 2018 PSAC Women’s Golf Championships at Hershey Country Club’s East Course.

West Chester’s conference crown brings with it the school’s first NCAA Division II Women’s Golf East Regional automatic qualifier next May.

“It was exciting to see the team come together and play three solid rounds,” head coach Doug Hendricks said. “Our preparation over the last three weeks gave us the confidence to compete at such a high level for 54 holes.”

Genuardi shot an 83 in very windy conditions to stay out in front of the field and win the school’s first individual championship. She led the field after all three days of the tournament. West Chester shot a 344 on the final day, but still managed to stay in front and take home the team title with a 951.

“I was especially proud of the focus and course management Juliarose (Genuardi) displayed. As a senior and co-captain, it was great to see her take home low medalist.”

Bridget Pyott (Wayne, Pa./Academy Notre Dame de Namur) tied for fifth overall with a 235 while Meghan O’Mara (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) was seventh with a 240 over the three-day event. They represented West Chester’s three individuals in the Top 10.

Angela Masseria (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) showed a 249 for the tournament, and Dominique Marchese (Media, Pa./Merion Mercer Academy) shot a 259 in the tournament.
