Bernadette Theresa Catania of Conshohocken

Bernadette Theresa Catania, 94, of Conshohocken, died peacefully on November 2, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late John S. Catania. She was born in Bridgeport, Pa. on December 27, 1923 to the late John and Katherine (George) Strouse.

Bernadette was a graduate of St. Augustine Elementary School, West Catholic High School, and attended Spring Garden College. She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper at Gulph Mills Golf Club. Bernadette was a devoted member of the former SS. Cosmas and Damian Church, and a current member of St. Philip Neri Church. She enjoyed sewing, vacations with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four children; James V. Catania (Christa) of Conshohocken, Katherine Safrin of Amesbury, MA, Joanne Alexander (Raymond) of Lansdale, Bernadette Catania of Conshohocken, six grandchildren; Jason Catania (Alix), Keith Catania (Becky), Katey and Will Safrin, Raymond and Megan Alexander, six great-grandchildren; Ella Raye, Matthew James, John Edward, Chloe Jayne, James Lee Catania, and Georgia Mae Gandolfi, her siblings; George Strouse, Gerald Strouse, Geraldine Moley, Francina Capallingna, John Strouse, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by three sisters; Mary Perry, Catherine Ivey, and Rosalie Partenheimer.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing from 9:30-11 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444 on Friday, November 9, 2018. Entombment will follow in St. Matthew Mausoleum.
