Eugene Messina of Norristown

Eugene Messina, 73, of Norristown died on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Chandler Hall Health Services, Newtown, PA. Born September 26, 1945 in Sciacca, Italy, he was the son of the late Maria (Polatta) and Jack Messina.

Mr. Messina emigrated from Sicily to this area in the early 1950’s, was a member of Holy Saviour Church; and the Maria del Soccoroso di Sciacca (MSS) club, where he was very active and held many lodge office including president. He was a frequent patron of the Starbucks in the Northtowne Shopping Center, becoming very friendly with the entire staff.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelley (Thomas) Messina Aufiero; grandson, Mason Harris Aufiero; and his many family and friends for the MSS Club.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 9, 2018, 9:00 am 9:50 am, at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St., Ntn., PA. Memorial Funeral Mass to follow at 10 am. Burial to be private at the convenience of the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, Philanthropy Office, 99 Barclay St., Newtown, PA 18940.
