Royersford’s Main Street lanes to close for work

ROYERSFORD >> Single lane closures are scheduled on Main Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue in Royersford Borough, Montgomery County, beginning next week.

Closures will begin on Monday, November 26, and last through Friday, November 30, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for traffic signal installati­ons, PennDOT announced.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area because slowdowns will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

Work under this improvemen­t project is part of PennDOT’s ‘Green Light-Go’ initiative, Pennsylvan­ia’s Municipal Signal Partnershi­p Program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals located in Pennsylvan­ia.

The scope of work on this project includes the installati­on of fiber optic cables, and upgrading traffic signals at varying intersecti­ons.

Wampole – Miller of Conshohock­en, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $1,558,716 improvemen­t project which is financed with 50 percent state and 50 percent local funds. Constructi­on on this improvemen­t project is expected to be completed in summer 2019.
