Dorothy J. Moyer, formerly of Norristown

Dorothy J. Moyer (Houtz) 98 of Yarmouth Port, MA, and formerly of Norristown, PA, died peacefully Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Pavilion in Hyannis, MA.

She was the wife of the late Willard S. Moyer

Born and raised in Norristown, PA, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Wilson L. and Esther (Weikel) Houtz.

She graduated from Norristown High School and worked at Montgomery Hospital and for the Springfield Oil Co. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Norristown. In retirement, she moved to Cape Cod with her family in 1998.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sallie Irwin of Yarmouth Port; a niece, Ester Wall and her husband, Richard and their daughters Kathy Long and her husband, Brian, and Nancy Spector and her husband, Brian; a nephew, Donald Hoffman and his wife, Gail and their daughters, Donna Kornblum and her husband, Steve, and Joy Warnick and her husband, Hal, and Andy and Ryan Long; and extended family in Seattle, WA, Cindy Irwin and her husband, Bill Singer, and their daughters, Libby and Jane Singer, and Susan Irwin; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sisters, Louella Houtz, Ferne Hoffman, and Kathryn Fisher; and her son in-law, Dr. Harry B. Irwin, III.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday November 30 in the Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home, 200 West Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19401. Interment will follow in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 South Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406.
