Rose C. Bateman, age 93, of Lafayette Hill, died peacefully on November 28, 2018, at her residence.

She was born on June 12, 1925 in Philadelph­ia to parents Robert and Kathryn (Gleason) Nutter. Rose graduated from St. Hubert’s High School Class of 1943.

During WWII, she worked at the Navel Depot and often told of writing to the service men that needed encouragem­ent from home. She enjoyed Big Band music and dances at neighborho­od parishes and later got a job at Yale and Town where she met her husband Edward. They married in 1947 at St. Bernard’s Church in Philadelph­ia but soon moved to Lafayette Hill, where they raised 5 children.

Later in life, Rose loved to travel with her husband and wonderful friends making memories that would last a lifetime. Ireland and Spain were favorites. Dancing and shopping were hobbies she enjoyed but most of all her time we devoted to her family. She was devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r. Her love and generous spirit will be missed deeply.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son, Edward. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 71 years, Edward; her children, Mike, Kevin, Robert and Colleen; 10 grandchild­ren and 13 great grandchild­ren.

Rose’s funeral Mass will be held Monday, Dec. 3 at 11:00 AM at Saint Philip Neri Church.

There will be a viewing on Monday before the Mass from 9:30-11:00 AM at the church 437 Ridge Pk. Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.

Rose’s Interment will be held privately.
