Bridgeport Speedway has exciting schedule in ‘19

The Bridgeport (NJ) Speedway has put together an exciting schedule of events for the 2019 season.

The 2019 season will kick off with the 60 Over Special — the Doug Hoffman Memorial Race that honors the former track champion and promoter. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, just one week after the track’s open practice session on Saturday, March 23rd.

Colonial Pipeline returns as the title sponsor for the 811 Call Before You Dig 2019 Poker Series. The 60 Over Special will kick off the new season along with the 2019 Poker Series for the Spirit Auto Center Big Block Modifieds, Stewart Stainless 602 Crate Sportsman and Outlaw Stocks.

Reigning Big Block Champion, Ryan Watt started off his 2018 Championsh­ip season with his first win in the 60 Over Special and will be looking to defend his title on opening day.

The 360 sprint Cars of the United Racing Club will kick off their 2019 season when they join the Big Block Modifieds and 602 Crate Sportsman for a Sunday race program on April 14th. 2018 URC Champion, Josh Weller will be leading a host of talented open wheel competitor­s in this opening day event.

The 2019 point chase gets under way on Saturday, May 4th. There are 14 scheduled point races for the Big Block Modifieds during the 2019 season with four of those events to take place on the 3/8th mile track during May and June. (Show-up points will be awarded for the World of Outlaw show, the All American 40 and the Rumble on the River.)

The World of Outlaws makes its only 2019 appearance in the Garden State when the likes of Donny Schatz, Kasey Kahne, Brad Sweet, David Gravel and others take on the 3/8th mile Bridgeport track. The 602 Crate Sportsman will join the Outlaws
