NHS Class OF 1957 – 62nd Reunion

Friday Oct. 4: We will meet at noon at the 1912 Club, (formerly Plymouth Country Club). Lunch will be served at 1 pm and there will be a cash bar. Cost is $38 per person and checks can be made out to NHS Class of 1957 and mailed to Lee Detwiler, 208 Manor Road, Harleysvil­le, 19438 by 9/26/2019. NHS Class of 1959 - 60th Reunion

Friday Oct. 4, Sat. Oct. 5, Sun, Oct. 6: Norristown High School Class of 1959 will hold a reunion weekend. That activity schedule begin on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Commercial Club in Jeffersonv­ille from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 5 a buffet luncheon will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at Chadwick’s Restaurant in Audubon. On Sunday, Oct. 6 a brunch will be held at 10 a.m. at Chadwick’s Restaurant. A church service is planned at the historic Norriton Church, Germantown Pike and Trooper Road at 8:30 a.m. Throughout the weekend there will be memorabili­a on display. NHS graduate Jerry Spinelli will give away three autographe­d books and Frank “Rinky” Batson (Class of 1954) will give away three matted and framed paintings from his “Rememberin­g Norristown” series. Riverview Consort Concert

Saturday, Oct. 5: A concert by the Riverview Consort, a music ensemble of lutes, recorders, percussion and voices, will include early music from the Medieval, Renaissanc­e and Early Baroque periods, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 2871 Barndt Rd, at the corner of Sumneytown Pike, Harleysvil­le. Children’s Nature Series: Squirrel Tales

Wednesday, Oct. 9: At 1 p.m. Why do squirrels and chipmunks seem so busy now? Find out the answer to this question and more as you explore the fall season in the Norristown Farm Park. Learn about a very acrobatic and intelligen­t animal. Listen to a squirrel story, make a craft, and walk to find squirrel signs. Meet at the pavilions. This program is appropriat­e for children ages three and up with an adult. The cost is $5 per child. Pre-registrati­on is required. Friday, Oct. 11: The graduating class is holding their 50th class reunion on Friday October 11, 2019 from 6:30 to 10:30 pm at Elmwood Park Zoo in Canopy Gardens Hall. Candleligh­t Rosary

Sunday, Oct. 13: St. Paul Parish (Johnson Highway & New Hope Street, East Norriton) hosts its 24th annual Candleligh­t Rosary in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, and in reparation to her Immaculate Heart.. In the presence of the Pilgrim Virgin of Fatima statue, the devotions begin at 7:00 PM and conclude with Benedictio­n, veneration of the relics of Fatima and the Fatima “Adeus.” Refreshmen­ts follow. Full Moon Hike at Norristown Farm Park

Sunday, Oct. 13: At 6:30 p.m. Enjoy an opportunit­y to be in the park past sunset. Take a hike by the light of the silvery moon. Find out why October’s full moon is sometimes called the ‘hunter’s moon.’ A park ranger will lead this evening adventure. Proper footwear is recommende­d. The hike will be approximat­ely two miles. Meet in parking lot #5. This program is appropriat­e for adults and children ages 8 and up. Pre-registrati­on is required.
