DISTRICT DOUBLES >> Three local teams won firstround doubles matches, only to fall short in the second round of the District 1-3A Tournament. Upper Dublin’s Eileen Xiao/Eva Hunter lost in the second round to the No. 3 seeds of Unionville Saanvi Garg/Faith Ilgner 6-1, 6-0. North Penn’s Lauren Alling/ Brynn Janke fell to Downingtow­n West’s Lily Shi/ Alyssa Dehart, 6-1, 6-3. Methacton’s Hanna Kim/ Katie Chan came up short to the No. 2 seeds of Con- estoga Leena Kwak/Olivia Dodge, 6-0, 6-0.

In 2A doubles action, GMA’s Isabella Kellner and Jess Flanigan also lost in the second round. The Monarchs duo fell to Delco Christian’s Brette Foutch/ Sarah Stahl, 6-2, 6-1.

SOUDERTON 5, QUAKETOWN 1>> Antony Palonis finished with two goals and an assist as Souderton earned a second straight victory Thursday.

TJ Hibsman had two assists for the Indians (8-82, 4-6-2 SOL Continenta­l), who led 5-0 at halftime. UPPER DUBLIN 1, SPRINGFIEL­D (M) 0 >> Samuel Moss scored the lone goal of Thursday’s SOL American contest off a Zachary Berman assist as Upper Dublin won its third straight.

SOUDERTON 0, QUAKERTOWN 0 >> Souderton hit the crossbar twice in the first half while goalie Morgan Molyneaux made a 1-on-1 save in overtime as the Indians (10-6-2, 5-5-2 SOL Continenta­l) and Quakertown played to a scoreless draw Thursday. DOCK 3, PLUMSTEAD CHRISTIAN 1 >> Olivia Mercue and Cailey Ridge both collected 16 digs while Ashlann Gerber had eight aces as Dock Mennonite claimed a four-game BAL victory Wednesday. DOCK 3, COLLEGIUM CHARTER 1 >> Becca Brown recorded 9 aces, Olivia Mercure added eight aces as Dock Mennonite bested Collegium Charter Tuesday for a BAL win. LAWRENCEVI­LLE 18, GA 7 >> Goalie Noelle Paynton successful­ly faced down several breakaways, ending the day with eight saves. Lindsay Putnam and Elle Stauffer each scored three goal for the Patriots.
