NORRISTOWN >> A Douglass (Mont.) man is on his way to state prison after two searches at his home uncovered more than two pounds of methamphetamine and numerous firearms, including one that was reported stolen.

Richard Christian Kramer, 40, of the 200 block of Stone Road, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 5 to 10 years in a state correctional facility after he pleaded guilty to felony charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and receiving stolen property in connection with incidents that occurred between July and November 2018 at his home.

The sentence was imposed by Judge Wendy G. Rothstein. Kramer will receive credit for the time he’s been in prison since Nov. 29, 2018.

The judge ordered that all the firearms, a total of 19, that were seized from Kramer’s residence be forfeited to the district attorney’s office.

Court papers filed by county detectives indicate an initial search of Kramer’s residence, located in the Barto section of Douglass (Mont.), occurred on July 27, 2018.

During that search, detectives located 1,114 grams, or 2.45 pounds, of a white crystalline substance that tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine as well as 114 grams of suspected marijuana, 15 firearms, $4,635 cash, numerous prescription medications believed to be illegally obtained, a digital scale and drug packaging materials, according to the criminal complaint.

As the investigation continued and Kramer remained free, detectives obtained a second search warrant “after information was received indicating Kramer was again selling methamphetamine and marijuana from his home on Stone Road,” according to the criminal complaint. A second search of Kramer’s home occurred on Nov. 29, 2018.

During that second search, detectives seized 95 grams, or 3.39 ounces, of a crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, 73 grams of suspected marijuana, four firearms, $7,000 cash, a digital scale and drug packaging materials, according to the arrest affidavit.

The investigation determined that one of the firearms in Kramer’s possession, specifically a .40-caliber pistol, was reported stolen in Pittsburgh, according to arrest documents.

With the charges, detectives alleged digital scales and packaging materials like those found in Kramer’s home during the two searches “are often used by drug dealers to repackage controlled substances, like methamphetamine and marijuana, and prepare it for sale.”

Additionally, detectives alleged in court papers, the amounts of methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription medications seized during the searches “are consistent with possession with the intent to deliver.”

Other charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and prescription medications, possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed against Kramer after he pleaded guilty to the most serious felony charges.
