Faithful celebrate feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe

- Submitted

On Dec. 12, a procession with Our Lady of Guadalupe began at St. Francis of Assis Church at Marshall and Buttonwood streets and ended at St. Patrick’s at DeKalb and Chestnut streets.

Parishioners, devoted persons, children, etc. sang, chanted and danced, offering their praises to God and honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe.

At the end of the procession about 60 trucks decorated with lights and music blaring transported statues of Our Lady of Guadalupe throughout the town.

Upon arriving at St. Patrick Church a solemn Mass was held for this great day in honor of Mary, with choirs singing and the entire Church praising God and his Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe. After Mass there was food to top off the celebration.

What a wonderful way to bring Jesus to the world through his holy Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe.
