Ye, Huber earn CACC Weekly Honors for USciences

USciences women’s basketball’s Irisa Ye (North Wales/ North Penn) was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Defensive Player of the Week Monday while Devils teammate Jess Huber (Hatfield/North Penn) was selected on the conference’s Weekly Honor Roll.

Ye, who earned the award for the second time this season, averaged four rebounds and three steals per game as USciences went 2-0 last week. She had 18 points and six rebounds in last Wednesday’s 78-62 win over Jefferson then posted eight points, six steals, three assists and two rebounds as the Devils topped Nyack 6345 last Saturday. Huber averaged 18.5 points and 3.0 assists in the two victories, shooting 54 percent from the field and 53 percent on 3-pointers. Against Jefferson, she scored 21 of her gamehigh 25 points in the first half and also had two rebounds, two assists and two steals. She went for 12 points, four assists and two rebounds in the Jefferson win.

Brigit Coleman (Lansdale/ Gwynedd Mercy) had a career-high five steals, two points and three assists for the Devils in the Nyack win while Taylor Hamm (Collegevil­le/Perkiomen Valley) chipped in two points, two rebounds and two assists. Against Jefferson Vitelli posted 17 points and 4 rebounds, Coleman collected five points and two assists, Hamm added four points, seven rebounds and three assists and

Shannon May (Rydal/Archbishop Wood) had three points and six rebounds.

• Ursinus women’s basketball’s Lydia Konstanzer (Sellersvil­le/Pennridge) eclipsed 1,500 career points — becoming the third player in Bears history and 18th in the Centennial Conference to reach the milestone — in last Saturday’s 76-47 win over Bryn Mawr.

Konstanzer finished with 16 points — moving into second in UC’s all-time scoring lost — and grabbed 10 rebounds for her fourth straight double-double. She also had two assists, two steals and two blocks. Alyssa Martin (Perkasie/Gwynedd Mercy) added a career-high 13

points for the Bears.

Last Wednesday in a 6559 loss to Haverford, Konstanzer had 12 points, 19 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals.

• Penn State Altoona men’s basketball’s Jack Kusters (Quakertown/ Lansdale Catholic) was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week Monday after averaging 23 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in a pair of wins last week.

Kusters hit 7-of-8 3-pointers in scoring 27 points — a game-high and tying his career high — to go with six rebounds and five assists last Wednesday in a 85-75 win over Franciscan University. Last Saturday, he tied for the team-high with 19 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out a team-high four assists in a 98-80 victory over Medaille College.

• San Diego State women’s swimming’ Marie Yacopino (Lansdale/North Penn) scored a seasonbest 302.45 in winning the 1-meter diving title and also placed fourth on the platform with a career-high 222.65 at the Northern Arizona Diving Invitation­al #2 last Saturday.

• Gwynedd Mercy men’s basketball’s Rich Dunham (Norristown/Pope John Paul II) was named to the Atlantic East Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday. Dunham had a career-high 35 points to lead all scorers in the Griffins’ 76-73 loss to Wesley last Wednesday. Dunham was 6-of-9 from beyond the 3-point arc, grabbing eight rebounds and made three steals.

• Justin Jaworski (Schwenksvi­lle/Perkiomen Valley) scored a career-high 32 points — 14 coming as the Lafayette men’s basketball team finished with a 30-9 run to rally past American for a 82-70 win last Saturday. Jaworski also had three rebounds and three assists.

In an 80-78 win over Colgate last Wednesday, Jaworski posted 15 points and two rebounds.

• Chestnut Hill women’s basketball’s Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove/Archbishop Wood) was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll Monday after averaging 20 points — on 54 percent shooting — five assists and 4.5 rebounds as the Griffins split two games last week.

Sebold had 18 points, three assists and two rebounds in last Wednesday’s 75-68 loss to Georgian Court then last Saturday scored a game-high 22 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists in CHC’s 88-77 win over Concordia.

Also for Chestnut Hill last Saturday, Rachel Millan (Huntingdon Valley/ Lower Moreland) had 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while Lauren Crim (Warrington/ Lansdale Catholic) collected 11 points and three rebounds. Bri Hewlett (North Wales/North Penn) tallied six points and six rebounds with Abbey Spratt (Doylestown/Central Bucks West) finished with four points and three rebounds.

Against Georgian Court, Crim had a game-high 21 points, eight rebounds and three assists while Hewlett recorded her first career double-double — 12 points and 12 rebounds along with four assists. Millan added five points.

• Jefferson women’s basketball’s Alynna Williams (Ambler/Plymouth Whitemarsh) was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 22 points per game as the Rams went 1-1 last week.

Williams had a teamhigh 19 points and two rebounds in last Wednesday’s 78-62 loss to USciences then last Saturday scored a game-high 25 points and collected two rebounds and two assists as the Rams defeated Caldwell 67-59.

• Devon Goodman (Laverock/Germantown Academy) scored twice in double digits as the Penn men’s basketball team won a pair of Ivy League games last week.

Goodman posted 15 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists last Friday in a 75-72 win over Harvard. Last Saturday, Goodman finished with 16 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals as the Quakers topped Dartmouth 54-46.

• Bailey Greenberg (North Wales/Archbishop Wood) moved into sixth on the Drexel women’s basketball team’s all-time scoring list last Friday as she finished with a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 59-50 win over Towson.

Kate Connolly (Harleysvil­le/Souderton) had nine points, seven rebounds and two assists for the Dragons while Aubree Brown (Philadelph­ia/Archbishop Wood) added seven points, seven rebounds and six assists.

In Drexel’s 70-48 win over James Madison last Saturday, Greenberg had a game-high 18 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists, Connolly collected 11 points, six rebounds and two assists while Brown had two points, seven assists and four rebounds.

• DeSales men’s basketball’s Mike Bealer (Harleysvil­le/Souderton) hit four 3-pointers in scoring 14 points while also recording five rebounds and two assists in an 8460 win over King’s last Saturday. Tracy Simsick (Harleysvil­le/Souderton) chipped in two points, two rebounds and two assists for the Bulldogs.

• Ryan McTamney (Roxborough/La Salle) scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds last Saturday as the Ursinus men’s basketball defeated McDaniel 69-51. Last Wednesday, McTamney had 11 points, six rebounds and three assists as the Bears lost to Haverford 70-63.

• Quinnipiac women’s basketball’s Taylor Herd (Quakertown/Lansdale Catholic) hit four 3-pointers to lead all scorers with a career-high 22 points to go with six rebounds and two steals in the Bobcats’ 9164 win over St. Peter’s last Wednesday.

Herd then had a teamhigh 17 points — connecting on three triples — and also recorded two rebounds and two assists last Saturday as Quinnipiac topped Iona 67-64.

• Kordell Rush (Perkasie/Pennridge) and Evan Widing (Pennridge/Pennridge) both won by decision in the Delaware Valley wrestling team’s 39-6 loss to Millersvil­le last Saturday. Rush won 8-6 over Jacob Lehman at 133 pounds while Widing defeated Elijah Tuckey 7-1 at 149.

Last Thursday, Rush and Widing had two wins in the Aggies’ tri-meet with Scranton and Camden County College. In the 36-15 loss to Scranton, Rush earned at 18-0 tech fall over Michael Gardia in 2:12 at 133 while Widing pinned Dante Simeti in 1:19 at 149. Both Rush and Widing had forfeit wins in DelVal’’ 27-15 win over Camden County.

• Gabrielle Troisi (Norristown/Pope John Paul II) had 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals last Saturday as the West Chester women’s basketball team defeated Mansfield 79-52. Last Wednesday, Troisi posted six points, 11 rebounds and two assists in a 65-44 loss to Millersvil­le.
