Boardroom’s new spirit Fire Bear has a label the depicts “‘The Chairman’ atop a bee harnessing the power of fire,” according to a press release. Made with Northbound Bourbon, Fire Bear is “steeped with real cinnamon and finished with a touch of honey.”

Boardroom Spirits’ last product launch in May, of Ship’s Cat Rum, featured three different types of rum and raised $6,000 for Stray Cat Blues Rescue, a Colmar-based organization that rescues stray and abandoned cats and kittens in Montgomery and Bucks counties and suburban Philadelphia. Marat Mamedov, co-owner of Boardroom Spirits said he is hoping the fundraiser for Dog Town Rescue “is equally as successful.”

Mamedov said the company typically releases a new product every few months.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we had to cancel a few fundraisers that were supposed to take place at our distillery and still wanted to be able to help those charities out,” he said in an emailed response to questions, adding that Fire Bear and Ship’s Cat Rum were already in the works and had had “synergy to the charities, we were going to partner with.”

“It made sense to team up for these ‘virtual product releases’ so on release day we could bring awareness to the product and charity while raising some money for a good cause,” he said.

Mamedov said while Boardroom Spirits doesn’t yet have any additional products to announce, “we love to drop clues and hints on social media.”

Philanthropy is at the core of Boardroom Spirits’ mission. The craft distiller has been donating both money and product to the community since the business opened in February 2016 — an estimated $40,000 in just the last two years.

Mamedov said that before the pandemic, Boardroom Spirits hosted a fundraiser each quarter, adding that like many businesses, Boardroom has needed to “pivot and make changes” over the past several months.

In addition to the virtual donation days, Boardroom Spirits has been producing and donating hand sanitizer to first responders and curbside customers; and has pushed a social media “Heroes of the Week” campaign to highlight essential workers and honor their efforts.

Boardroom Spirits began producing hand sanitizer in March, Mamedov said, when the company heard how hard sanitizer was to find. To date, more than 700 gallons of hand sanitizer has been given away for free. The free distribution will continue, he said.

“We have started selling convenient 2-ounce spray bottles and 1-gallon containers for purchase in our online store, but if you stop by the distillery with your own bottle, we will still provide a complimentary 4-ounce pour,” he said.
