Jazz, Blues & More concert series postponed

-

Due to the latest COVID-19 statewide restrictions announced Wednesday by Gov. Tom Wolf, the DoubleTree by Hilton in Reading has postponed the Jazz, Blues & More concert series scheduled for the end of July.

The new restrictions limit indoor events and gatherings to 25 people. Previously, the restricted Grand Ballroom capacity was based on 25 people per 1,000 square feet of space. The 10,000-square-foot ballroom was approved for up to 250 fans for each concert to provide for social distancing.

“While we are disappointed by the new restrictions, we respect Gov. Wolf’s decision,” said Craig Poole, DoubleTree by Hilton general manager. “Everyone on the DoubleTree team will do its part to work within the state guidelines.

“We really were looking forward to presenting the four concerts. The response by fans has been positive. Advance tickets sales were solid. That reaction clearly demonstrates music fans are anxious to experience live concerts again.

“With that in mind, we are committed to rescheduling the Jazz, Blues & More series to an appropriate date based on state guidelines.”

The DoubleTree by Hilton staff will be contacting all advance ticket purchasers to make appropriate refunds.
