Frederick E. Eidman, Jr.
Frederick E. Eidman, Jr., 92, a resident of Shannondell in Audubon, Pennsylvania, formally of East Norriton Township, died on December 14, 2020, at home. He was the husband of Nancy H. Eidman.
Born near Edinburgh, Scotland in October 1928, he was the son of the late Frederick E. Eidman of Parkton, Maryland and the late Christina Fraser Eidman of Baltimore, Maryland.
He was a graduate of Baltimore City College High School, and Johns Hopkins University. He was a General Electric Company retiree. He was a Life Member of Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers and a Life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Frederick served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was active in his community, serving on the East Norriton Township Planning commission, several years as Chairman, and on the East Norriton Zoning Hearing Board for six years, five as Chairman. He was also a member of the Norriton Fire Engine Company. He ushered at Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge for many years.
His interests included astronomy, mathematics, physics, World War II history, travel and reading. While at General Electric, he participated in many projects including manned space missions, early pulsed radiation studies, and nuclear power facilities.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hoffman Eidman, sons Kirk Frederick Eidman of Saint Newtown Pennsylvania, Craig Andrew Eidman (Maura) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Brian Edward Eidman of Lansdale, Pennsylvania and George Frazer Eidman (Karen) of Trappe, Pennsylvania. He was survived by three grandsons, and two granddaughters. A sister, Georgina Schultz of Annapolis, Maryland, and a brother, David F. Eidman (Jean) of Parkton, Maryland predeceased him.
Private services will be held at Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on December 19, 2020. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
