Pine stands in support of Tarantino’s proposed ‘Star Trek’ remake

-

Chris Pine wouldn’t mind getting in on Quentin Tarantino’s proposed “Star Trek” remake.

The actor, who last portrayed Capt. Kirk in 2016’s “Star Trek Beyond,” says that at the moment, he knows about as much as anyone else about the potential R-rated installment – but is looking forward to it.

“I’m quite literally one of the last people ever to find out,” he said. “So, I haven’t read that script, I don’t know where it is in development. But I love the character, I love the universe, I love my friends in it. You know, to have a Quentin take on it would be tremendously interesting and entertaining. You know, look, whatever happens, if I come back or not, it’s a great universe, it deserves to have a future.”

The Academy Award-winning auteur is rumored to have been working on his own chapter of the legendary scifi franchise, but there has been no official word on whether or not it’s a go.

The “Pulp Fiction” director is longtime fan of the Gene Roddenberry series, which introduced the world to the interstellar adventures of Kirk aboard the starship USS Enterprise when it debuted on NBC in 1966.
