-

Luciana P. Cassel (nee Parisi) passed away peacefully on December 17, 2020 surrounded by her family at age 88. She was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Giuseppina (Braghetti) Parisi. She resided in Blue Bell with her beloved husband who preceded her in death, John D. Cassel Sr. She was the dear mother of John D. Cassel Jr. and his wife Karen, Walter D. Cassel and his partner David W. McCarthy, and Anthony D. Cassel and his wife Judy. Luciana was the cherished grandmother of Nikki, Alexis, John, and Adam Cassel, and was the caring sister of Vincent Parisi and Marino Corda.

Luciana was born in Agra, Italy in 1932. She survived World War II and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina with her family in 1949. She built a name for herself as an international dancing star throughout South America and met her husband in Montevideo, Uruguay. He brought her with him to America to be wed and begin their life together. In America the work of her past came to a culmination; stitching together her love for dancing with her experience in textile, she worked in dressmaking to produce costumes for others. She had three sons whom she loved dearly and for which she was a strong role model. Along with dressmaking, she worked driving school buses for the Norristown Area School District in the Cassel / Kaufholz family business and later worked in the dentistry field as Chief Surgical Supervisor for both Prosthodontic Intermedia Fort Washington and Prosthodontic Intermedia Mexico. Her incandescent personality and smile brought life to the dental office. She built many friendships with coworkers and clients, leaving her impressions upon them and sprinkling her light into their days. After 27 years, she retired from dentistry at age 79. She spent the last 6 years of her life living in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Luciana’s Life Celebration on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 5-7 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norton, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19401, and again for mass on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 10-10:50 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting PA 19462.
