John Carfagno

-

John Carfagno, 82, of Norristown died peacefully on Friday, January 8th after a valiant battle with Covid-19. Jack leaves behind the love of his life, Dr. Theresa Carfagno, a brother in law and sister in law, Gerard and Jan Letterie, two nieces Mia and Ava, and many other family members and close friends. He is predeceased by his parents John and Rose (Morello) Carfagno.

Jack grew up in Bridgeport, Pa and lived in the Norristown area his entire life. He co-owned Granese Cheese Company with his father in Norristown for many years. They made wonderful Italian cheeses and were an iconic business in the community and surrounding areas.

Jack attended St. Francis Elementary School. He went to Malvern Preparatory High School where he played football and developed many lifelong friendships. He attended Villanova University and graduate school at St. Joseph’s University. Jack served in the Navy after College and was immensely proud of his service to our country. Jack worked as a book salesman for International Textbook before he joined his dad at the cheese company.

Jack spent the past few years driving cars for Lexus of Ardmore. He loved the job because of the great friends he made there – and how they loved to rib each other.

It is said that Jack never had a bad day. He was always positive and would start a conversation with any stranger. Theresa and Jack loved to travel and, without a doubt, Jack would always meet someone he knew on his distant trips.

So many people, his family, friends, coworkers, fellow diners at Lou’s and Jems loved Jack. Theresa will miss him immensely but will always be comforted by his kind spirit and wonderful memories.

A private service will be held because of Covid concerns. However, a memorial service will take place in the future as per Covid-19 status, to celebrate his life with all who cherished him. Relatives and friends are invited to view Jack’s Funeral Mass online only on Friday January 15, 2021 at 11 am by visiting St. Helena’s website: https://www.sainthelenacentersquare.net/livestream/

In lieu of flowers, Theresa would like donations made in his name to his beloved Alma Mater, Malvern Preparatory School (418 S. Warner Avenue, Malvern, Pennsylvania)

Services to the family are entrusted to BoydHorrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton. To share your fondest memories of Jack, please visit www.lifecelebration.com, 610-277-7000
