Tammy Campli
There are four at-large seats open on the Perkiomen Valley School Board and eight candidates seeking them. None of them are incumbents.
The four candidates who will appear on the Democratic ballot line are Tammy Campli, Michelle Smith, Michelle Keating-Sibel and Edward McGuire.
The four candidates who will appear on the Republican ballot line are Rowan Keenan, Don Fountain, Jason E. Saylor and Jason Christopher Shoemaker Geddes.
All candidates were invited to respond to MediaNews Group’s online candidate questionnaire. What follows is their responses in the order they were received.
Campli, 43, lives on Kagey Road in Collegeville and has never held elected office before.
She holds a doctorate in educational leadership and works as a school psychologist.
Campli wrote she is running for the school board “so that I can work to ensure that the students in my community, including my own children, continue receiving an outstanding education that is also equitable and inclusive. Additionally, there is a need for strong candidates who are honest, transparent, openminded individuals and operate with integrity. These are things I strive to be personally and will work to ensure that those around me strive for them as well.”
Given the chance for one guaranteed accomplishment while in office, Campli wrote “Over a four-your term, I would love to see the Perkiomen Valley School District meet its goals in regards to equity and inclusive practices. It is important to remember that fair is not that everyone gets the same thing, it is that everyone gets
Edward McGuire
McGuire, 40, lives on Burgess Road in Collegeville and has never held elected office before.
He has a bachelor’s degree and works as a “solutions manager.”
McGuire wrote that he is running for the school board “To ensure my young children receive the same quality education as previous generations.”
Given the chance for one guaranteed accomplishment while in office, McGuire wrote it would be to “establish full-day kindergarten.”
Jason Saylor
Saylor, 41, lives on Palmer Court in Skippack.
He works as an account executive and declined to provide any information about his educational background.
