KENNETT SQUARE » Genesis Healthcare Inc. has announced that Harry Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, and his consulting firm the MAEVA Group, will complete their engagement with the national post-acute care provider company by Nov. 15.

In its announcement Monday, the company said Wilson and

MAEVA Group had provided notice of the end date. Wilson will also leave the Board at the end of the engagement.

Wilson and MAEVA were hired in March of this year to develop and execute a turnaround plan for the Kennett Square-based Genesis while building a foundation for future innovation and growth as a national leader in eldercare. Wilson replaced former CEO,Robert H. Fish.

Since joining the company, Wilson put together a restructuring plan for the company that was accepted by the board of directors. He has also overseen its initial implementation, according to the company.

“Genesis will continue to execute this plan while it searches for a new CEO to lead the effort,” A press release announcing the transition, stated.

David Harrington, Chairman of the Board for Genesis, credits Wilson for his efforts to “quickly develop and drive forward” a turnaround plan for the company.

“Genesis has already made significant progress in a very short period of time and the company’s financial situation has improved,” Harrington said in the release. “With my support, our seasoned senior leadership team will continue to execute on the restructuring plan with the same level of focus and commitment while the company searches for a new CEO.”

“It has been a great honor and a privilege to work with the team at Genesis,” Wilson said in the release. “Together, we accomplished a great deal in a short period of time, and I look forward to watching the team continue to build on that work in the months and years.

It is not clear whether Wilson’s departure is coming early. According to a spokeswoman for Genesis, Wilson and MAEVA Group are “typically engaged for 6-9 months for turnaround projects.”

Wilson spent his early career in the financial services sector. Over time, he became focused on transformational work and accepted a senior role on the US Auto Task Force, where he led the restructuring of General Motors on behalf of the US Treasury. In 2011 Wilson founded MAEVA Group as a platform to pursue similar transformational work.
