Knights have Titanic battle ahead
North Penn can clinch SOL National with win over CB South
North Penn will look to polish off a perfect regular season when the Knights travel to Central Bucks South for a Suburban One League National Conference contest on Friday.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
The Knights, who can clinch the conference title with a victory, come into this one at 9-0 overall, 6-0 in the National. The Titans are 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the SOL National.
North Penn is coming off a 28-21 victory over Central Bucks East, which clinched at least a share of the conference crown. South had a tough time with Pennridge, falling 35-10 to the Rams.
It’s a game with District 1-6A playoff implications as well, with North Penn currently at the No. 2 spot behind only Garnet Valley. South is 14th in 6A.
The Knights came through in the clutch last week against the Pats.
East had rallied from a 21-0 deficit to pull even in the fourth quarter, and faced a 3rd-and-5 from its own 41 with 5:13 remaining.
Jalen Edwards raced down the right seam and quarterback Ryan Zeltt hit him for a 59-yard go-ahead touchdown. Edwards added an interception on the ensuing drive.
Cole Maholtz and the South ground game will try to find bigger openings this week.
