GARNET VALLEY 3, UPPER MERION 0 » The 21st-seeded Vikings traveled to fifthseede­d Garnet Valley and lost in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-23 in a District 1-4A second-round match on Tuesday. Sophia Schweikert was outstandin­g with 18 kills and three aces. Vanessa Hutchinson and Julia Giammarco each added 13 digs. Caitlyn Daywalt had 16 assists for Upper Merion. HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, CB EAST 0 » The Hatters pulled out a 25-17, 25-22, 25-20 win in a District 1-4A secondroun­d match on Thursday. As they’ve seen throughout the years the Hatters were successful in bringing a balanced aggressive offense to the table run by senior setter Grace Howard with 25 assists and in kills by Kayla Jones (11), Nastya Tsestsko (7) and Isabelle Bombas as well as Jade Lauzier both adding six to the mix. Lauzier

also had an exceptiona­lly strong night with five blocks as well as Tsetsko and Bombas adding two to the mix. HH had a strong night on the serving line with 14 aces led by Maci Lumpkin (5), Kalya Jones (3), Ava Santo (2) and Abigail Kosmalski (1). Lumpkin also led the defensive game with a massigve 15 digs and 17 passing attempts. The Hatters travel to No. 2 Unionville on Saturday afternoon for a District 1-4A quarterfin­al match.

DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 1, ABINGTON 0 » Alexis Dirti made four saves in net but the 13th-seeded Ghosts dropped the District 1-4A second-round match on Thursday. Maura Day and Carley Slavin both played well for the Ghosts.

VILLA MARIA 10, PJP II 0 » Gi Manza stopped 12 shots on net, but the Golden Panthers fell short in a District 1-2A second-round match on Thursday to the top seeds.

Boys soccer

LOWER MERION 6, SOUDERTON 0 » The Indians fell to the the No. 2 seeded Lower Merion in the second round of the District 1-4A Tournament on Thursday. The Indians only trailed 2-0 at the half before things got out of control in the second half. Aidan McClure made six saves in net for Souderton.

Golf

PAC ALL LEAGUE » The PAC announced its all-league selections for boys golf and Pope John Paul II was wellrepres­ented with two firstteam selections in seniors Alex White and Paul Brady. Methacton senior Mike Liu also made the cut. For the girls, Methacton senior Sarah Lawrie and HatboroHor­sham junior Sammy Fuchs were both first-team selections.
