BAL ALL-LEAGUE » The BAL announced its girls lacrosse all-conference teams. There was certainly a local flavor to it as Jenkintown’s Sarah Cummings was player of the year. Dock’s Emma Kratz was named offensive player of the year, Jenkintown’s Liv Spoerl was named defensive player of the year and Dock’s Michelle Waldspurger was named coach of the year.

Cummings currently leads her team in virtually every statistical category, including total points, ground balls, caused turnovers and the fewest turnovers of any starting midfield or attack player. She has been named first team All-BAL since her freshman year and was awarded the All-Academic PASLA Lacrosse team last year.

Kratz is Dock’s co-captain, 2021 first team allleague member and coleague MVP. This year she amassed 15 goals and 11 assists.

Spoerl is a midfielder for Jenkintown and has been instrumental in the Drakes’ success. She also has 23 goals on the season and is near the top in ground balls (43) and caused turnovers (22). She was also first-team last season.

Waldspurger is in her third year of the Pioneers program and helped them post an 8-7 regular-season record and a berth in the District 1-2A playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Other first-team members from Dock were Abby Mellinger, Katherine Wenzel and Kenzie Derstine. Other first-team members from Jenkintown were Mia Visominski, Kaelin DiMaria and Katie McGrath.
