Two Chester County law firms combine
Gawthrop Greenwood, PC merges with Hudson L. Voltz, PC
WEST CHESTER » Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, a regional law firm with offices in West Chester, and Greater Wilmington, Del., has announced a merger with Chester County-based law firm Hudson L. Voltz, PC.
The merger was effective June 1, according to a press release. Attorneys Hudson L. Voltz and Janet
J. Satterthwaite have joined Gawthrop Greenwood’s team of attorneys at the firm’s offices at 17 E. Gay St. in West Chester.
“Hud and Janet have earned a stellar reputation in Chester County for providing exceptionally dedicated and personalized legal services to their clients and community. These core values are fiercely upheld by Gawthrop Greenwood, and we are so pleased to unite our teams,” Patrick McKenna, chairman of the management committee at Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, said in a statement.
Voltz founded Hudson L. Voltz,
PC in Downingtown in 1992 and is the managing partner, representing individuals and families throughout the region in family law, estate planning, probate, business law and real estate law.
“Gawthrop Greenwood has an exceptional regional reputation, and I have always admired the partners there as well as the history of the firm. When I began my law practice 40 years ago, they were the lawyers I could count on to mentor me and many others,” Voltz said in a statement.
For 24 years, Voltz served as chairman of the East Brandywine Township Board of Supervisors.
He currently serves as vice chairman and grants administrator of Bondsville Mill Park in East Brandywine Township. He is also the founder of the East Brandywine Foundation and serves on the board of directors of the Downingtown Area Recreational Consortium, which serves nine municipalities.
Practicing in Pennsylvania and also admitted in New Jersey, Satterthwaite works with client that seek assistance in estate planning and probate administration, as well as numerous family law, small business issues and residential real estate matters. Her work with elder law encompasses all aspects of planning for aging, illness and incapacity.
