Butterfly Gardens

Members of Springdale for Monarchs, a community group dedicated to saving the monarch butterfly, will present a program on creating a home butterfly and pollinator garden at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.

Folk Encycloped­ia

Ethel Simpson, retired archivist with the University of Arkansas Special Collection­s Department, will discuss “Otto Ernest Rayburn and his Ozark Folk Encycloped­ia,” at noon Wednesday, April 19, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Rayburn, an author and educator who moved to the Ozarks in 1917, spent years amassing newspaper clippings, magazine articles, letters and photos related to Ozark lore and life, eventually organizing his collection into a 229-volume “encycloped­ia.” Today the collection is housed in the Special Collection­s Department at the University of Arkansas’ Mullins Library.

Wireless Society

The Ozark Wireless Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
